Student Loan Debt

Biden continues to freeze student loan debt as left progressives push to cancel it all together. Why is the president doing this, and is it good? I believe that when it comes to the presidency, we should access the decisions made by his administration to determine if the job he is doing is good or bad. This applies to Republicans, Democrats and anything in between. So as President Biden chooses to freeze student loan debt, is it a good decision?

Over the coarse of the last five or so years, education has been one of the hottest political topics. Namely, student loans and college education. First of all, should college education be free for all? Well it’s kinda complicated. First, college is expensive, and I’ve learned this since I have started looking into the colleges I would want to attend. However, there are ways to get into college for cheaper or even for free, scholarships. Scholarships are attained by excelling in any area of schooling or, like in my case, sports. So in a way, if you have the work ethic, anyone can get into college for a more reasonable price. Should college be free though? Well looking at say Sweden (where education is free) it would seem a good idea, but if you don’t pay for the education, then the government has to, which leads to more government control over the people and more government spending, and where does the government get their money? Tax payers! So higher taxes. So really in a lot of ways, free college is a bad idea. Then again most looking into this option suffer from student loan debt or something of that sort. So then is canceling student loan debt a bad idea?

To start, student loans are intended to help those who can’t, pay their way to a college education, but as with most loans, they often come back and to bite and many are left to pay a tremendous amount of money for years and years. So then canceling student debt sounds great, right? Well if you don’t pay then again the government does, which leads again to more government control, but also to more government spending, and where does the government’s money come from? Tax payers! So higher taxes. Something the left has wanted for decades and continue to push for. This is why Trump was a G.O.A.T tier president, which you should know from reading my president tier list.
